Our story
A studio built on slowness.
Shiro Studio was founded in 2018 in a converted storage building in Kyoto’s Fushimi district. We make stoneware by hand, one piece at a time, with no production targets and no timelines.
Our glazes are mixed from local ash, rice straw, and iron oxide. No two pieces are identical. Irregularity is not a flaw — it is the record of a making.
